Roma Show Scarecrow Building Competition

Farm and Garden Scarecrow Section Roma Show Society

Every year, the Roma Show holds are Scarecrow building competition. In the competition there are three categories: junior scarecrow (14 years & under), adult open scarecrow and business open scarecrow. 

Your scarecrow can be anything you can dream up, as long as its able to free stand on provided stands and is not too wide!

The overall winner will receive a lovely large hamper and sash. All entries will receive a certificate of participation!

Entry fee: $50 per business entry 

Inclusions: Beer, assorted Billson drinks, soft drink, and some nibbles to enjoy while building. Your business logo displayed on your completed scarecrow over show weekend. 

What To Bring

  • Clothes for your scarecrow
  • String or twine
  • Scissors
  • Something to make the body & head from- pillowcases work really well
  • Something for the scarecrows hair
  • Shoes if your scarecrow needs any
